2nd Grade Class "Tours" Southeast Asia
Heather Armelino

Mrs. Wingfield's second graders took a tour to three Asian countries: China, Thailand, and India. They made dancing elephants while traveling to India, painted pandas while visiting China, and saw many authentic artifacts from Thailand. During every lesson they tasted snacks from these countries. As a grand finale, they had a great feast with many choices of Asian food and tried to eat with chopsticks! Thank you, Mrs. Denise, for this unforgettable experience of cultures, crafts, authentic cuisines, and fun!!!  Mistletoe appreciates the multicultural contribution of our families to make us all stronger.

On behalf of the  Mistletoe school community, I want to congratulate you and your children! Our school was recently recognized as a 2017 - 2018 Educational Results Partnership (ERP) Honor Roll School for our high achievement and student success! The Honor Roll program, sponsored by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), is part of a national effort to identify higher-performing schools and districts that are improving student outcomes.

The 2017 - 2018 ERP Honor Roll utilizes public school student achievement data to identify successful schools and districts. Our school stands above others in the state because of our demonstrated ability to get students to grade level achievement and beyond. Schools that receive the ERP Honor Roll distinction have demonstrated consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations.

We did not apply for this award. Our results led them to us! Because of our accomplishment, we will be featured on the ERP Honor Roll website and a banner has been designed for us to hang proudly at our school.

We are thankful for the hard work of our students and teachers here at Mistletoe. This recognition is a testament to the sustained focus on academic results and commitment to student success that our school and parent community hasshown over the years.

Again, congratulations and let’s keep up the great work!

Veterans' Welcome Home Event
Heather Armelino

For the third year in a row, The Dynamics, our Junior High Choir, performed at the Shasta County Veterans' Hall for the "Viet Nam Veterans' Welcome Home Event"  on Saturday, March 23, 2018. The group sang The Armed Forces Salute and The Song for the Unsung Hero. Our a cappella group, The Mistletones, performed the National Anthem, and Taylor Cole led the Pledge to the Flag. Mistletoe's singers enjoyed a chance to serve the Veterans their meal, and we were honored to be a part of the community's recognition of our brave soldiers!
