Mr. Shaw attended Sacramento State University where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Government, with a Minor in History. Mr. Shaw then went on to receive his Single Subject Teaching credential in Social Science, also at Sacramento State University. He holds an Administrative Credential as well.
Mr. Shaw has a wide variety of experience in education spanning TK-12th grade. He began his career as a High School Social Science Teacher in Sacramento, teaching 9th-12th grade History, Government, Economics, Geography and Contemporary Global Issues. At the high school level, he served as Assistant Activities Director and Assistant Track and Field Coach. After several years at the High School, Mr. Shaw was asked to be part of a transformational team at the Middle School level in the Sacramento Area. He taught 8th grade History, was the school Activity and Athletic Director and Student Government Advisor. Upon receiving his Administrative credential, Mr. Shaw moved to Redding where he served as an Assistant Principal at Boulder Creek and Mistletoe. He spent 4 years at Rother as Principal, and is now excited to serve as Principal at Mistletoe School.
